Overview
Google is in the process of expanding the reach of its current Local Services Ads Google Guaranteed and Google Screened platform. They are attempting to increase the presence of Google Guaranteed and Google Screened badged advertisements across Google's advertising products. Previously, badged LSA ads only appeared on the top of the Search page and the Local Services Ads search page.
Google has launched its first expansion for all Google Guaranteed and Google Screened verticals across all geographies on Mobile. Now, the Google Guaranteed and Google Screened badges will be displayed in immersive organic map ads, positively affecting organic listings. This is yet another significant advantage of LSAs; if you advertise with LSAs, you will also be featured in the first or second position in map ads. This is also beneficial for professionals who are live in geos that have no adoption; now, even if LSAs are not triggering for the vertical in that area, the professional's ad will appear in map ads. Please note that, similar to LSA placement, the two featured professionals will always rotate, and there is no way to control which ads are featured. In addition, all leads resulting from the placement of map ads will be charged and reported in the same manner as existing LSA leads.
This is how they look like:
Q and A
Q. Will my google business profile (GMB) still show up on Maps if my LSA is being advertised on MAPS?
A. With all of these new discoveries and tests with LSA and GMB, we can expect the two platforms to be integrated in the near future. This means that in order to go live with LSA, you must have a GMB profile attached. This also implies that your LSA information must be consistent with your GMB profile information. For example, name, business hours, target location, and so on.
Scenario: If your LSA targets specific cities but your GMB profile targets a different city, there will be a mismatch and your LSA will not appear on maps. If your LSA and GMB have similar target locations, when a lead searches for realtors near me, your LSA will appear first, rather than the GMB profile.
Q. If I got a lead on LSA and it was shown on Google Maps, will I still get charged for the lead?
A. Yes, you will be charged for the lead because it came in via the LSA platform. Your LSA was just displayed on Google Maps, but that doesn't mean it will be free.
Q. How can my LSA be on the top 2 for the map ads?
A. You will need to follow the LSA AD BEST Practices to consistently perform. In Google Maps, however, all LSA profiles are shuffled every time the page is refreshed. Adhering to best practices guidelines will assist your LSA in appearing consistently in Google Maps.
