Twilio Business Profile
Ylopo uses a third party vendor, Twilio, to power texting (including Behavioral Texting, AI texting, and RAIYA). Twilio’s terms of service have been updated and require users to complete a Twilio Business Profile in order to continue to use texting services. This update came as a result of a requirement from major US carriers like AT&T and Sprint and is being enforced by The Campaign Registry (TCR).
If you do not successfully register your brand as a business, Twilio will block all texting capability for your brand effective August 31, 2023.
To ensure we have ample time to process your information and any rejections from Twilio/TCR, we must receive your updated information no later than June 30, 2023.
- Use THIS FORM to update your information for resubmission - or to register as a sole proprietor.
- Please be aware you may not file as a sole proprietor if you have more than one Ylopo license.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: If I am a single agent, should I provide my Social Security Number?
A: No. You should work with your brokerage to use their business ID and information. Your broker or office admin can help with this! If you don't have access to your brokerage's EIN and only have one license with Ylopo, you should register as a sole proprietor.
Q: What if I'm in Canada?
A: Please use your Canadian Business Number (first 9 digits only as reflected in bold: 123456789RT0001). or register as a sole proprietor if you meet the criteria to do so.
Q: Why is my EIN required?
A: Twilio uses these numbers to verify that you are, in fact, a business. If you do not have an EIN, please use the EIN for your brokerage. Unfortunately, DUNS, Real Estate license numbers, etc. are not accepted.
Q: Where can I find my EIN (Employer Identification Number)?
A: Your EIN can be located in any of the following places:
- Confirmation letter from IRS
- Previous tax return
- Previous business loan application
- Business credit report
- Payroll paperwork
Q: If I’ve checked those places and still can’t find my EIN, what do I need to do?
A: If you’re having difficulty locating your EIN, you can call the IRS to look up your federal tax ID number. If you are using your brokerage's EIN, you can ask your office administrator or the payroll department.
Q: Who should I list as my authorized representative?
A: Your authorized representative can be any trusted member of your team who can verify information should Twilio need additional verification. This can be you, your broker, your team administrator, office administrator, etc.
Q: Why do I need to provide an authorized representative?
A: If Twilio needs to verify information, has questions/concerns about the information provided, they will need to reach out directly to someone who can address those concerns.
Q: What will happen if I don’t fill out a business profile?
A: You will no longer be able to utilize Ylopo texting services, which include Behavioral Texting, AI Texting, and Raiya.
Q: Why was my business profile rejected for EIN?
A: We see rejections for EIN for several reasons.
- EIN was blank
- EIN was improperly formatted (must be in format 12-3456789)
- EIN does not match company name (company name must appear exactly as it does on business documents)
Q: My EIN was rejected, but it is correct. What should I do?
A: Ylopo can submit an appeal to The Campaign Registry via Twilio. You must provide the official EIN Confirmation Letter from the IRS in order to start the appeals process.
